Don't drink and drive. Instead, the next time you get too drunk to drive, walk into a local pizza place and order a pizza for delivery. Then when they go to deliver it, ask for a ride home.

I would not doubt it especially in the US.

It may depend whether the driver is an employee or a contractor.

A contractor could have the lee way to drive you and you could compensate him by giving him a good tip. This would get around the gypsy cab aspect.

It is his car in most cases around here.
