Thumbs Race as Japan’s Best Sellers Go Cellular

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/20/world/asia/20japan.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

The dawn of a new media, a new genre and a new HUGO category.

Heh, I'm waiting for the first scandal where it turns out some big-selling novel wasn't *really* written on the author's cellphone, they just said it was to help sales. (And people forget to talk about whether the book was any good regardless.)
