Movie Review: "Black Snake Moan"

This movie is a Memphis Blues song given a visual aspect. If you can't figure that out it starts and ends with Son House talkin bout blues songs and where they come from.

Its a about a woman who grew up without parents and
a man growing old with children,

It's about love and friendship and the deeper meaning of both.

It's about Samuel L. Jackson and Christina Ricci chewing up their parts and spitting them out at you.

And yes Christina does spend most fo the movie barely clad and chained to a radiator but that is not what the movie is about. The chain is a metaphor for the chains we crat in our lives and carry with us tothe end of our days.

Great music too.

I really liked it too, and am disappointed it didn't do better at the box office. At the very least, you'd think people would go to ogle Christina Ricci :-)

I think some people may have been turned off by that aspect, some of them the same people who go to 300 to oogle Gerard Butler in a jock strap.

hmmm I may have to reconsider my decision to wait for Netflix to see that movie... might be better on the large screen... hmmm
