rfmcdpei this song is Ontario's unofficial anthem. Dolores Claman, who wrote it, also wrote the Hockey Night In Canada theme now used by CTV. The English lyrics were by by Richard Morris. Larry Trudel wrote the lyrics for a French version.
The short film it is from won the Best Short Film Oscar that year. The film had been commissioned for the Ontario pavilion at the world's fair in Montreal known as Expo 67, when the world came to Canada in the one of the best world's fairs ever.
I can still remember seeing the film in the Ontario Pavilion at Expo 67 way back in October 1967. We were so young back then.
