* the router has a high CPU load and is discarding SMTP packets in favor of TCP and UDP (i.e. useful) traffic
* an access list has been applied to block SMTP monitoring
* the fully-qualified domain name and/or IP address of the monitored system has changed
As for Iran's missile, I haven't seen any public evidence that the thing actually achieved its mission objective. Of course the technology isn't secret, it's just expensive, so it should be possible for Iran to put astronauts into orbit if they want to spend the money.

About the missile, going to space was done by a V2 so its conceivable they have done that.
