My boring 2008 life:
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Took blood pressure medication.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make resolutions
3. How will you be spending New Year's Eve?
Went to a matinee show of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" with an online acquaintance, then Japanese food at a new restaurant and then home to watch TV by myself.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No
5. What countries did you visit?
United States about once a month
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
Energy, motivation, friends, life partners
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The day in June when I found out that I had high blood pressure and blood sugar
8. What was your biggest achievement(s) of the year?
Bought a new car, put together ConFusion, GenreCon, an SF and a Horror film festival and a number of events at work.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not being assertive enough or communicative enough and getting really stressed out as a result
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
See 7. plus Plantar Fasciitis most of the year, too much stress and related depression
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My new Honda Civic sedan
12. Where did most of your money go?
See 11 plus the mortgage.
13. What song will always remind you of 2008?
"You can't always get what you want" by The Rolling Sones
14. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Relax, gotten out to musical events more, made more new friends
15. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Stress out, eat stress
16. What was your favorite TV program?
"Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain" a talk show on Speed Channel that I actually ordered digital cable for so I could continue to watch it. Mainly for a familiar face every week talking about a subject, automobile racing, that I enjoy talking about.
17. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No.
18. Do you love anyone new that you didn't love this time last year?
No, not in the romantic sense.
19. What was the best book you read?
I read many good books by Charles Stross, Tobias Buckell, Karl Schroeder among others, nothing really stood out.
20. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Grady, Gordy Johnston's new band out of Texas, completely new would be The Stills out of Montreal
21. What was your favorite film of this year?
"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"

Had dinner with my mother and my aunt and I was almost 50

Books and Television and Exercize

Having friends living in the same city as me

No one in particular, many fine acquaintances but none have stuck in my life
