Haven't read 'em all, but I'd agree that "Guns, Germs and Steel" is one very interesting book!

I can't believe I haven't read even one of those books. Although, I have seen the movie 'The World According to Garp' and have read another Connie Willis novel 'The Doomsday Book' (which is one of my all-time favourites). Will check some of your picks out at the book store.

Years ago I picked a book off the shelf because I was in the mood for a darker fantasy novel. I happened to grab "The Black Company" by Glen Cook. I *loved* it.

Many years later, having read the book several times, I just found that it was the first in a series. I'm having a lot of fun with it. :)
