Life gets more interesting:
First LJ has been bought by Russian firm SUP:

This is not too surprising since I have noticed for awhile that the Cyrillic LJ is almost as big as the Latin alphabet part. According to the article LJ in Russia is a major source of intellectual discussion.
Second the USA is tightening their borders again:

This is bad news for the Ontario economy, especially the auto industry which depends on timely delivery of goods. The border is already slow now it will be even slower. People in Sarnia used to go over for dinner not so much these days if you have to wait 45 minutes on the bridge. This move is intimidating and will probably make the wait longer.
The USA is getting farther and farther away from Canada in spite of the efforts of Prime Minister Steve to make us more American than America:

You invaded us in 1776, 1812 and 1866.
You joined us in World War's One and Two and in the latter we formed the Devil's Brigade joint unit.
We joined you for Korea and Afghanistan.
My grandfather was born in Elizabeth New Jersey and I used to have American Great Aunts in Michigan and in New York.
Too many Americans think Mexico when they think land borders, forgetting the incestuous nature of the Canadian border in which fire departments, families and even houses are shared by two countries.
