In 1963, the Beatles released their first album, "Please Please Me." Previously, the title song had been released as a single (backed with "Ask Me Why"). The entire album was recorded in just fourteen hours, less time than the Beatles would later spend on individual songs.
The album included eight original songs (all Lennon-McCartney) and six covers. They were:
