Science Fiction movies have been around since Georges Melies' Le Voyage dans la Lune in 1902; to the Atom Bomb inspired B-movies of the 1950's like Forbidden Planet to the existential work of the 60's and 70’s like Silent Running to Star Wars and the present day. Later shows include UFO , Andromeda some episodes anyway; Space Above and Beyond and Life on Mars . Also to be discussed are anime SF shows like Planetes and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex .
