Via [livejournal.com profile] rfmcdpei this song is Ontario's unofficial anthem. Dolores Claman, who wrote it, also wrote the Hockey Night In Canada theme now used by CTV. The English lyrics were by by Richard Morris. Larry Trudel wrote the lyrics for a French version.

The short film it is from won the Best Short Film Oscar that year. The film had been commissioned for the Ontario pavilion at the world's fair in Montreal known as Expo 67, when the world came to Canada in the one of the best world's fairs ever.

I can still remember seeing the film in the Ontario Pavilion at Expo 67 way back in October 1967. We were so young back then.

Oh Wow!

I remember that. I went to Expo and saw it and was blown away. I do remember the colour being a lot brighter and more intense. That's when split screen was high tech. At Expo 86, it was Imax and 3D.

We learned to sing the song in school. You brought back some great memories for me.

I still have my Canada album from '67.

Canada... One little, two little three Canadians. We love you.
