Paul Newman dead at 83
Actor, race car driver and humanitarian Paul Newman has died of lung cancer at the age of 83. My first encounter with him was the movie "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." I have since seen some of his earlier movies like "Cool Hand Luke" and his later films like "The Verdict" and "The Color of Money." He was always on top of his form. I also followed some of his driving career. He started driving in his forties and achieved much in endurance driving, winning his class once. Whenever I saw him on a talk show he seemed like the kind of person you would want for a friend, warm, funny, smart and caring. I would say his greatest accomplishment is the over 200 million dollars he raised for charity through his products like "Newman's Own Salad Dressing."
This picture will stick in my mind as classic Paul Newman, out numbered and out gunned but still going down with a fight.

Thanks for everything Paul, thanks for everything.
