This certainly does feel like the pilot for a series.
It would be nice to see it picked up.
Technical nitpicks:
However can an Orion pulse drive really get you to Epsilon Eridani in 5 years?
If the ship rotates for gravity what gives gravity to the stem of the ship, since crew are seen walking and moving in it normally no velcro in sight?
Also the rotating part is stopped for the acceleration phase yet none of the loose gear moves around under zero gee?

Also yet another genre rape scene?

I did like the homage to "Buckaroo Banzai" though.

I for see much of the action taking place in the virtual world.

I called the " The Great Revelation " about 15 minutes in. Needs less talking heads and more ship operation shots.
