Syfy renews 'Stargate,' 'Sanctuary'

The good news is that Staragte Universe is renewed and the bad news is that no new episodes until April.

Is it just me or does Universe have too much of a BSG (third season?) feel to it? I just can't get into it like the original SG or Atlantis. It lacks some of the comedic air that are in the other two.

I agree its definitely more serious in nature.

When you look at the episodes they are mostly set on Earth or the ship which is cheaper to shoot than many alien planets.

I think in part this is the influence of BSG's success.
