So for the first time in almost two years I am sick and I am not at worldcon for the first time in three years.

I hate being sick but not sick enough to justify calling in sick. So I spend my days at work trying to find something to do that I feel up to. I get home and sit around the house because I want to rest and get better. Aghhhh. Bah. Eckk.

So its good that I did not go to Boston aside from the fact that money would have been tight to do it. I'll miss the none stop discussions of science and fiction and everything in between. I'll miss socializing with people from around the world and sampling the cuisines of big cities.

Have fun all of you who are there and do post of your adventures so I can live vicariously through them.

To ease my pain I did order Ringworld's Child and Newton's Wake and the former and the big Oct./Nov. Asimov's just got here.

I will not miss the travel to and from Boston. Sarnia is a hard place to get out of unless you are driving.

Get Working!

Steve why are you posting on LJ when you should be out getting material for your LJ worldcon party report?

If you see George tell him I really enjoyed his GOH speech from last year. As my mother's father grw up in Bayonne it gave me some insight's into how his childhood must have been. My grandfather was a Scottish Presbyterian whose dad was in management growing up in a working class Irish Catholic city. George and my grandfather may have gone to the same school and library.
