March 17 is no longer St. Patrick's Day to me.

It is now the day Andre Norton died:

Andre was one of the first authors I read and remains a sentimental favourite.

Yep, she was one of the first I read, too, and I loved her Witch World series. She also gave me hope that women could write science fiction and fantasy as up until then I had thought it mainly a male preserve. Of course that might have been because my main source of science fiction books was my two older brothers who read almost exclusively male writers.
