I listen to the podcast and it's rather heart breaking to hear how much has to be left on the cutting room floor. Budget constraints really cripple this series in a way (or arguably force better writing). It's one of the reasons the show has a general lack of combat and action. Season 3 I think has generally bit because it appears they had a whole mini subplot developed but then they jettisoned the idea at the last minute, when lots of stuff was already filmed.

I download from itunes, and I'm pretty sure I didn't see this scene. but they definitely referred back to it in subsequent episode. so many things make more sense having seen this--pity.
