I will be at Penguicon running the ClubFusion. We'll be in room 274 from 9pm until very late on both Friday and Saturday nights. Come hang out with some old friends and meet some new ones! Have a drink and some snacks on us!

Thursday Thoughts:

Today is the anniversary of Yuri Gargarin being the first man in space way back in 1961.

I also found out that Kurt Vonnegut has died. He was a real influence on me in my teens with his skeptical view of the world and way of showing us stuff behind the curtain. My favourite book by him was "Slaughterhouse-Five, or The Children's Crusade: A Duty-Dance With Death." It taught me that history is relevant and that war and life has an absurd side.
I would like to think to that he is still living on Tralfamadore with Montana Wildhack but having learned from him, I don't think its likely.
I also reminded that the man who ghosted him as Kilgore Trout, Philip Jose Farmer is also getting along in years.
