From an SF Signal post via IO9 inspired by a misquote by Charles Stross that lead me to google Irontown Blues by John Varley:

Texas Best Grok, aka Fred Kiesche, has posted a comprehensive list of long overdue science fiction books. Here, "long overdue" means it was promised and/or announced a really long time ago, but has yet to see publication.

I edited Sf Signal's list to those authors still with us:

* The Star Conquerors by Ben Bova
* Cyteen II by C.J. Cherryh
* Demon With a Glass Hand by Harlan Ellison
* Blood and Vic by Harlan Ellison
* The Ghost Ships by Larry Niven
* Inferno (updated version) by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle
* Purgatorio by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle
* The Moon Bowl/Moonmites by Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle and Michael Flynn
* Falkenberg on Kennicott by Jerry Pournelle
* Mamelukes by Jerry Pournelle
* Spartan Hegemony by Jerry Pournelle
* The Return of the Space Viking by Jerry Pournelle
* Irontown Blues by John Varley
* Heaven Chronicles by Joan Vinge

All books I would not mind reading.

Texas Best Grok's full annotated list is here and worth checking out:

Where is Last Dangerous Visions? Or was it only looking at novels?

Wow. I don't think I await any of those. Aren't Pournelle, Niven and Bova hanging out with HomeSec and SIGMA these days anyway?

Pournelle is actually recovering from a serious illness, I enjoyed his tuff in the past and like his writing style although I don't identify with his politics at all.

Niven much the same like his style and settings and reflect that he seems to do better in collaborations these days.

Bova I should admit I have not read much since the 1980's.

I read the Niven/Cooper novel and it was OK, but I assume from the foreword Cooper is the one having written it.

Still, I think like this. There are more authors and books out there than we can ever hope to read. Many of them undoubtedly are very good. So I don't really need to read HomeSec-Pournelle, not because his works would be non-enjoyable but because there are tons of other authors who don't hang out with SIGMA I can give money to instead.
