No. But I saw it on one rather obscure LJ and then I did it, and now I see it on lots of them. And I've been bored lately and branching out when I'm at the internet cafe, reading for about three times as long as usual.

And since I did this thing it's everywhere I see.

Just started reading Starship Troopers again after watching the movie the other day.

The book is waaaaaaaaay better than the movie. I liked the idea of powered armor. Especially after hauling around 125 lbs. of gear around Afghanistan especially when we first got there (Hot) except when we could ride via Cling-on battlecruiser (Nissan pick-up or land cruiser). Although by late November I only had to worry about the A-pack and my weapon. But even as a youngster growing up in the early '60s the whole powereed armor, with all the power and a nice air conditioned environment sounded too cool to be true. In fact, Starship Troopers is one of the reasons I went Airborne.

I actually like the way the movie has them operating as really big units of cannon fodder as opposed to the one man wrecking crew the book makes them.

The other changes.... Well they're kinda the same idea but way different stories.
