Tommy Douglas was a good choice.

I think Sir William Osler for making modern medicine and

Sir Arthur Currie for helping end World War One early and put us at the table at Versailles.

Osler was not even nominated while Currie was 24.

I agree that Don Cherry and Wayne Gretsky probably should not have been there.

[livejournal.com profile] very_lost_boy and I suspected that Terry Fox would get it and that although Terry Fox WAS a model Canadian, did he really deserve it?

He had an impact but not as great as Tommy Douglas.

He is also someone most of us remember unlike Tommy who is now best know as Kiefer Sutherland's granddad.
